Background
EuroEvents is proud to bring to you its inaugural Asia Pacific Operation
Technology Solutions for Financial Institutions Conference, OpTech 2007, this November 6th.
The industry has long faced the challenges of a shortening product development
cycle, intense competition and ever-increasing customer demands. In addition to bottom-line
concerns, operation departments are under growing pressure to meet more stringent regulatory
and compliance requirements, and to cope with the rapid increase in business transactions
(many of them cross-border), particularly in the securities and fund industry. This has put a
lot of pressure on middle and back office operations, and firms across the region are
encountering growing difficulties due to the shortage of a skilled workforce that is able to
cope with this rapidly increasing workload. In many cases, technology solutions have become
important tools in handling these demands because they provide a more scalable and efficient
infrastructure. The critical factor is knowing how to apply these solutions to effectively
manage daily operations.
This conference, which has the theme "Building a Scalable and Efficient
Operation", will highlight best practices and showcase how you can make your organization more
competitive in today's fast-changing landscape. It will also discuss how technology solutions
can help drive profitability, comply with regulatory requirements and adapt to converging markets.
The aim is to create a neutral and influential platform for operation professionals and
technologists in the finance industry, enabling them to share their experience with the many
challenges currently facing the industry, and raise their key concerns.
OpTech 2007 will bring together more than 200 senior operations, technology
and compliance professionals and regulators, as well as solution providers, to discuss the
solutions available to meet their immediate needs. Entry to OpTech 2007 is free to qualified
industry practitioners, who will receive the information they need to become more effective
at their firms.
