Bong has been with Citibank for the last 18 years in various trading functions in the financial markets, including, foreign exchange trading, money market, local government bonds and eurobonds. He is currently the Director of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) and Country Treasurer of Citibank (Vietnam), responsible for Risk Treasury, Corporate Sales and Structuring, Trading, Debt Capital Markets Originations and Investor Sales.

Bong is the Founding Chairman of Vietnam Bond Markets Forum (VNBF or VBMF), an aggrupation of foreign banks, state-owned banks, joint stock banks, investment and securities houses and fund managers, that was established to help develop the fixed income markets in Vietnam through adoption of international best practices, training of market participants, creation of a code of conduct and ethics and serving as a sounding board for the Ministry of Finance and the State Bank of Vietnam.
