Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank, Madhur was with JPMorgan Chase and was involved in their corporate finance and then their capital markets business. Madhur managed issuers in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.

Madhur has a M.Com from the Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai and an MBA from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa, Barcelona. He is fluent in Spanish.
